Ideally, your timeframe should be around one year before the wedding. This gives you more than enough time but it’s better to allow for any cancellations. When it comes to wedding ideas, write them down as early as you can so you’ll have room to develop them as your creativity strikes.

Setting a date is the best thing to tick off your wedding planning checklist first. It’s also a good idea to allow flexibility with dates so you can get your dream venue. Figuring out how many people to invite for the ceremony and the reception is vital at the start of your wedding planning – just so you know what size venue you’re going to be looking at.
How do I know where to get married?

But before you make a decision, talk it through with your partner to make sure they’re on the same page as you.
Who do I choose as my bridesmaids / maid of honour / best man / pageboys?
The big trick here is don’t be too nice. This is your wedding and you need to choose people who you’re likely to be just as close to in 10, 20, 30 years time!
