Ah Halloween. It’s one of our favourite times of year and not just as your wedding day theme either! If you’re getting married next month or this time next year, why not think about a Halloween inspired hen night or stag do? There are a plethora of great ideas to choose from and means you get to incorporate a little bit of spook into your wedding, but not let it take over the whole thing.

We’ve picked out a few of our favourite ideas below, but left us know if you can think of any more. We’d love to hear from you if you’re looking for somewhere to host your Halloween themed wedding.

Haunted house

Why not go all out and hire a haunted venue for the night? The UK is awash with brilliant locations to host a hen or stag Halloween party. Here are our few of our favourites:

Borley Rectory, Essex

Woodchester Mansion, Gloucestershire

Berry Pomeroy Castle, Devon

Tower of London, London

The Feathers Hotel, Shropshire

Loombe Abbey Hotel, Warwickshire

Caerphilly Castle, South Wales

And of course, we can’t be sure if Parklands is haunted, but we dare you to find out…

Spooky goings on

The amount of scary activities available for hen and stag dos is amazing. Whether you’re looking for something a little more laid back or a full on fright-fest, there’s so much to choose from…

Ghost walks / tours – have a laugh with your mates as you’re lead around cities and houses, searching for peculiar happenings and learning the history of a place. You can then enjoy a few drinks afterwards or hit the town in Halloween fancy dress.

Murder mystery evening – perfect for those looking for some organised Halloween fun.

Zombie boot camp – definitely not for the faint hearted, but excellent for those who really want to throw themselves head first into the whole zombie apocalypse.

Pumpkin picking / carving – this is a great idea, whether you choose to go somewhere or if you decide to create something at home. Why not have a competition to see who can be the most inventive with their pumpkin design?

Thriller dance experience – this is certainly loosely based on the Halloween theme, but it’s something fun and a little bit different for those of you without two left feet.

Costumes

Of course, no stag or hen party is complete without silly and outrageous costumes, but what better time of year to really go all out than at Halloween? Below, we’ve picked just a few of our favourite ideas, to inspire and to entertain. Enjoy!
